What is a Skin Care Routine

Skin Care- the basic ways of cleaning your skin from outside skin illnesses.

The purpose of why people have skincare-

  • To keep their skin clean

  • No dry skin’

  • Wrinkles

  • Dark spots

  • Sun damage

  • Having soft skin

  • Makes them feel good about following a routine

  • Delay natural aging and other skin problems

How to know what type of skin you have?

Not all skincare is for some people. People have their own based on their type of skin.

  • Dry, flaky, rough skin means dry skin

  • Greasy or shiny skin means oily skin

  • Normal skin( not too dry or oily)

  • Have all those? Combination (Feels oily at T- zone area which is the forehead, nose, and chin and dry at other places.)

Also you will encounter various types of skin conditions like pimples or blackheads corresponding with your skin type.

A simple method to see what skin type you have.

The first thing you want to do is clean your face with a mild cleanser and rinse as you normally would except this time you don’t use a moisturizer. After a couple of hours get some blotting paper and see what areas of your skin are oily. Depending on how much oil you find in certain areas you may be experiencing some of the skin types mentioned above. Also when looking for acne treatment products check for ingredients like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.

*always go to a dermatologist if you have a skin problem*

Morning routine:

  • Cleansing-First you want to cleanse with the appropriate cleanser based on your skin type and rinse thoroughly

  • Moisturizing-Then you want to use a moisturizer to add moisture to your skin and to seal in the moisture.

  • Sunscreen-Always use Sunscreen (SPF 30 and broad-spectrum) when going out to protect you from the harmful rays of the sun. A lot of moisturizers come with sunscreen so that is also acceptable.

Night routine:

  • Cleansing-Just like in the day time you want to cleanse with the appropriate cleanser based on your skin type and rinse thoroughly Serums or toners

  • Serum and toners- Apply an appropriate right before moisturizing

  • Moisturizer-This will be the last step where you will be using a moisturizer to add moisture to your skin and to seal in the moisture.

Conclusion

To sum it all up the key takeaway on having good, healthy-looking skin is to remove all antioxidants like smoking, eating a healthy diet, stay as stress-free as possible, and to cleanse and moisturize your skin without overdoing it.
