Now we all know about the new virus that has harmed all of us these past few months. The Corona-virus or COVID-19 has impacted the daily lives of us humans.

Having it sucks, the symptoms are horrible, and if your body isn’t strong enough, it can lead to death. There is no cure at the moment, but there are many ways to help your immune system fight off this virus.



What is COVID-19?


Corona-viruses are a large family of viruses that usually cause mild to moderate respiratory diseases like the common cold. Recently there was an outbreak originating in Wuhan, China that has caused a new virus known as COVID 19.


Symptoms- Some people have reported a variety of symptoms depending on the severity of their case but some of the common symptoms are listed below.

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Loss of taste or smell

  • Diarrhea


Now just because you get some of these symptoms, you don’t have COVID. You may just have a regular cold and fever. It’s important to check with your doctor when having these symptoms.



Different Methods


Personally, I’ve had COVID in the past, and it sucked so much. The body aches; you have constant headaches; fevers were honestly horrible. Also seeing my family worry about me so much made me feel really sad.


Here are some ways that helped me and others fight off COVID- 19.



Properly Eating And Drinking


People underestimate how eating and staying hydrated helps fight off viruses. Do not skip on this, even if you feel full. I understand when you’re sick, you feel like not eating or drinking anything. But, this is the best way to help fight off the corona-virus.


Vitamins


The main vitamins you need to boost your immune system are vitamin d, c, and zinc.


Vitamin D -

  • Salmon

  • Egg yolks

  • Mushrooms

  • Fortified Milk


Vitamin C -

  • Orange

  • Broccoli

  • Spinach

  • Sweet and white potato


Zinc -

  • Dark chocolate

  • Whole grain

  • Beef

  • Hemp Seeds

  • Low-Fat Yogurt

You can even get over the counter vitamin pills if these foods are not available.



Over the counter medicine


Many people experience fevers and headaches with Corona. Medicines like acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and naproxen can help. Ask your doctor before purchasing these medicines.



Ginger Tea - Ginger is known for having anti-inflammatory properties, as well as helping the respiratory system. Adding this to some hot tea is a way that can help with your COVID symptoms, especially coughing.


Sleeping position


When sleeping, lay on your side and not your back. It’s harder to breathe when laying on your back because of where your lungs are. It can help a lot when laying on your sides instead.



Breathing techniques


Breathing slowly is a good technique to follow. Especially inhaling through your nose, and exhaling out your mouth.

COVID-19 can be very scary to have. Always check-up with your doctor if you feel you have COVID symptoms.


Make sure to stay home and avoid contact with anyone else. You don’t want this virus to keep spreading to other people.


Get lots of rest, eat, and stay hydrated. This is honestly the best way to help fight off COVID-19 at home.


And most importantly wear a mask in public places to prevent the spread of the virus.
